CDM ADVISORS KENT & LONDON
Kent Safety Solutions offers a CDM Advisor and Consultant service to help clients, designers and contractors comply with their duties under CDM 2015.
CDM 2015 was brought in to replace CDM 2007, and includes a number of significant changes that companies are expected to comply with:
- The role of CDM co-ordinator is abolished
- A new role of Principle Designer has been created
- Additional duties are given to the client
- Domestic work is now included
For Clients:
CDM2015 makes non-domestic clients responsible for some of the duties previously carried out by a CDM co-ordinator. It is the client’s responsibility to provide pre-construction information, to appoint competent contractors (in writing), to notify the project where applicable, and to make suitable arrangements for the management of health and safety.
We can help you, as a client, to comply by ensuring other parties comply with their duties, by compiling and reviewing pre-construction information, reviewing contractor paperwork and ensuring the site is being run properly and safely.
Principle Designers:
Principle Designer is a new role with considerable responsibilities: managing health and safety in the pre-construction phase, co-ordinating the design, passing on information about risks and other pre-construction information to the contractor and commencing the health and safety file.
We can assist you with discharging your duties under CDM 2015, with an experienced consultant giving as much support as you need. We can provide or complete templates for risk registers, pre-construction information and health and safety files, as well as assist in the tender or pre-qualification process.
Additionally we can advise where it is unclear who the Principle Designer should be, for example on the PFI or other non-traditional contracts.
Principle Contractors
We can help you prepare a construction phase plan, RAMS and carry out site visits if required.
