Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 requires that all businesses appoint a “Competent Person” with sufficient qualifications and experience to advise them. Larger companies often hire someone to fulfil this role on a full-time onsite basis, but if you don’t have the budget for this then our consultancy service is for you.
Our advisory service supports businesses in their efforts to achieve and maintain Health and Safety compliance, with bespoke consultancy tailored to each client and their industry. For a fixed annual fee over an agreed number of visits, our service agreement will include the following:
CONSULTANT/ COMPETENT PERSON
- An initial visit to assess your existing performance and compliance and to discuss those areas we can provide the extra help you need.
- A set number of visits per year from a consultant.
- Telephone and email advice from your consultant.
- Advice on updating your records, documentation and registers in line with developments in either your business or health and safety legislation.
- Liaison with your employer’s liability insurance brokers to update them on your health and safety progress/ improvements if necessary.
- Regular correspondence to keep you updated on the latest developments in health and safety issues which may impact your business, including updates to legislation.
- Liaison with the Enforcing Authority (if necessary) acting as your competent health and safety adviser.
